This 2 day tour Bagan – Monywa – Mandalay is a great option for those who want to contemplate the picturesque landscapes between Bagan and Mandalay. Along the way, you will have chance to explore Pakkoku – home to the clever wood carving technique located on the bank of the Irrawaddy River; and Monywa – the land of Buddhism lovers lying along Chindwin River.
O In the morning, at about 8.30am, our guide and driver will wait for you at your hotel lobby to pick you up and start the tour to Monywa.
Firstly, we will drive not more than 1 hour to Pakkou, the quiet town on the other side Irrrawaddy River. Stop to visit “Ma Ahu Ale Ywa” village widely known as a little Bagan because of its ancient pagodas group dating back to 1000 years ago.
Visit the local monastery with the famous wood carving Buddha status made by father and son on many years to finish. If you wish, you can visit a local house making the traditional handmade slippers.
Lunch is served at local restaurant.
Lying on the western bank of Chindwin River, you will find the Buddhist cave compound of Pho Win Taung temple.
Lunch and dinner not included, night stay at Monywa.
After breakfast, we spend time to explore more about Monywa before traveling to Mandalay.
Do not miss the visits to famous Thamboddhay Temple with around five hundred thousand Buddha images and Bohdi Tahtaung Monastery withthe great reclining and the 3rd tallest standing Buddha statue in the world.
Then we drive about 2 hours to Mandalay. Along the way, stop to explore the KaungMudaw Pagoda (and Sagaing Hills if weather permit for sunset) before arrive Mandalay.
Transfer to your hotel in Mandalay, trip finishes.
