Ta Prohm, built by Jayavaraman VII (1181-1201) on the site of a 6th century Khmer shrine. Consecrated to the Buddha and the Brahma, the temple is noted for its refined bas reliefs. Nearby is a smaller temple, Yeay Peau, which also has remarkable stone carvings. Near Ta Prohm is a small lake, Tonle Bati.

● Ta Prohm: Built around 1200 by Angkor’s famous king Jayavarman VII. That Mahayana Buddhist period in Cambodia’s history of art is called Bayon style. Like Ta Prohm in Angkor, the Ta Prohm temple at Tonle Bati was a sanctuary for Hindu deities at the same time. The site had been a Hindu place of worship already since the sixth century, in the pre-Angkorian Phnom-Da period, belonging to the maritime “empire” called Funan.
● Yeay Peau temple: named after King Prohm’s mother, can be found 150m north of Ta Prohm in the grounds of a modern pagoda.
● Silk Village: Cambodia is well known for its skillful silk weavers. It is primarily farmer’s women in rural villages who weave beautiful silk combining traditional weaving and dyeing with innovative designs and techniques.
● Neang Khmau Temple, also known as “Black Lady” temple, probably referring to the fire-marked surface of the tower. Like many of the sanctuaries of Koh Ker, the temple was dedicated to Shiva.
After that, we drive back to Phnom Penh and complete the tour excursion by taking you back to your hotel. End of services.
