PNH04: PHNOM PRASAT AND OU DONG(Full Day)

Overview

This is a combination tour of two famous attractions nearby Phnom Penh, Phnom Prasat – the temple of perfect women and Ou Dong – the former capital of Cambodia Kingdom. If you wanted to discover Cambodian history, religion and architecture in a day from Phnom Penh, this is your best choice.

We’ll pick you up at your hotel and driver northwest of Phnom Penh. Your visits today include:
● Phnom Prasat features at the top of the hill a brick sanctuary called Prasat Srey Krup Leak (“Temple of the Perfect Woman”). The extraordinary design of the temple resembles a cave and faces the west, which contrasts with many Khmer temples, which usually face east. The site had been used as a place of worship for many years before the Brahmans transformed it into a specifically Hindu-oriented site.

● Oudong was the capital of Cambodia from the early 17th century until 1866 when the capital was moved to Phnom Penh. Several temples, stupas and other structures cover three hills. The walk up the hill pro- vides an excellent countryside view. There are stupas containing the remains of several Cambodian kings including King Monivong (1927-1941) and King Ang Duong (1845-1859). The earliest structure is from the 13″ century. These hills were also the site of some of the Khmer Rouge’s most prolonged resistance against the encroaching Vietnamese army in 1979.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant before the visit to another beautiful temple.
● Vihara of 18Cubit Buddha, also known as Vihear Preah Put Atharoes, which suffered bombing by the Americans and then was blown to smithereens by the Khmer Rouge in 1977, with just some of its right side remaining on view, along with the pillars of the vihara, that was first elected in 1911.

We then drive back to Phnom Penh and complete the tour excursion by taking you back to your hotel. End of services.

● Within 24 hours before departure: Guests pay 100%
● From 24 – 48 hours before departure: Guests pay 50%
● Prior to 48 hours before departure: Guests pay 20%
