PRV30: The Long Tân Memorial Cross(Full Day)

Overview

Long Tân is a village in Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu Province, Việt Nam, at latitude 10°31′ N, and longitude 107°16′ E. When it was part of a separate South Việt Nam, it was in Phước Tuy province. It is renowned for its rubber plantations and hosts a very small population of roughly 1,200 people. This itinerary is designed for Australian and New Zealand veterans and their relatives and friends, and for visitors interested in the battle sites where those countries’ soldiers fought and died. The focus will be on the sights – and wherever possible, we bring past combatants together in a spirit of reconciliation.

Your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and drive about 2 hours Long Tan Cross, a memorial raised by the Australians in August 1969 in memory of the great battle of Long Tan, fought by the Australians and the Viet-Cong in 1966. Driving onwards to the Horseshoe Base , you get a magnificent up-close feel of the chaotic times during the war and the effect it had on the surroundings.

Afterwards we will take you to the Long Phuoc Tunnels, where you will get a glimpse into the primitive looking, yet highly developed guerilla tactics, used by the Viet-Cong to fight off their enemies. After enjoying lunch, which is included on this trip, we will visit the Nui Dat, SAS Hill, another Australian base before heading back to Sài Gòn. We drop you to your hotel or some place in District 1 at your request. End of your tour.

●   Within 24 hours before departure: Guests pay 100%
●   From 24 – 48 hours before departure: Guests pay 50%
●   Prior to 48 hours before departure: Guests pay 20%

●   Children Policy

• From 12 years old up: pay as an adult.
• From 5 – 11 years old: Pay 75%
• Under 5 years old: Free of charge. However, only one under-five free admission per booking. If you have more than two under-five, from the second kid pays 50% each.
