About 42km northwest of Buon Ma Thuot, Yok Don National Park was established in 1991. With an area of 115,545 hectares, the park is the home of nearly 70 animal species including some endangered in Indochina as well as some worldwide endangered species. Nowadays, Yokdon has become the biggest reservation of wild elephants in Vietnam. There are 17 ethnic groups have been living here. The locals are mostly M’nong. Visitors can drink the traditional wine from a communal jug at the same time through long straws and enjoy gong show performed by old and young villagers.
12.00 – 13.00: We are picked up at Buon Ma Thuot in the afternoon, transfer to Seven-branch waterfall and take a ride on elephant for 1 hour.
This evening is spent in bungalow.
Prepare inflatable boats and start paddling to Buddist waterfall along Serepok river with some small rapids. We have chances to experiencing unexpected feelings. Through bushy forests, evergreen forests and transitional forests, we stop at Buddist waterfall for fishing. Over night in tents.
Take a walk by yourself to discover the forests in the early morning with a lot of orchid and bird species. We continue on the inflatable boats to Ban Don and visit some ethnic villages by chance. Back to Buon Ma Thuot at noon. End of services.
